What Qlip stores

Qlip stores clipboard items you explicitly save by tapping the Paste button, using the Share Extension, or through Shortcuts. Items are stored on your device using SwiftData. If you have iCloud enabled, items also sync to your private iCloud container. Your data never passes through any server owned or operated by the developer.

Link previews

When a saved item contains a web link, Qlip may fetch a title and preview image for that link using Apple's built-in link preview system (LinkPresentation). These requests go directly from your device to the website — the developer never sees them. Qlip blocks requests to internal and private network addresses. Fetched metadata (URL, title, and images) is cached on your device only, with a 150 MB size limit and 7-day expiration.

Keyboard extension

Qlip includes an optional custom keyboard that lets you paste saved items in other apps. The keyboard does not have network access and cannot see what you type in other apps. It reads only from Qlip's own local data snapshot stored in a shared on-device container.

Shortcuts

Qlip offers Shortcuts actions for saving and retrieving items. These are user-initiated and all data stays on your device (and your private iCloud container, if enabled).

The developer does not collect any data from Qlip

  • No data is collected, transmitted to, or visible to the developer.
  • No analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs are included.
  • No user accounts or logins are required.
  • No data is shared with any third party.
  • No device identifiers are collected.
  • Qlip does not read your clipboard in the background.

How to delete your data

  • Individual items: Swipe to delete.
  • All items: Settings → Delete All Data.
  • Link preview cache: Settings → Clear Cache.
  • iCloud copy: After deleting the app, go to iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage to remove remaining iCloud data.

Deleting the app also removes the keyboard extension's local data snapshot.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL with a new effective date.
